CARDINALS GOING GREEN FOR GRIDIRON HEROES

Any and all unused cellular telephones will be welcome at Saturday’s Incarnate Word football game at Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium.
The Cardinals are joining forces with San Antonio’s Gridiron Heroes to collect old cell phones which then will be reworked and sold with the proceeds going to the organization.
Gridiron Heroes, a 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation, provides immediate and long-term resources and support to individuals sustaining catastrophic spinal cord injuries through activities associated with high school football.
At the 2 p.m. homecoming game Saturday between the Cardinals and visiting Southern Arkansas, collection boxes labeled “Gridiron Heroes” will be at the Benson Stadium entrances where Incarnate Word fans can leave their old phones.
