CARDINALS TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS IN LAREDO
Emily Hernandez scored a goal in the second half against TAMIU in a 2-0 victory for UIW.

In the final game of the regular season for the Incarnate Word women’s soccer team, the Cardinals traveled to Laredo and defeated Texas A&M International University, 2-0.
The victory gives UIW a 15-2-3 overall record and a 10-1-1 Heartland Conference record and most-likely assures the Cardinals the women’s soccer team the automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Tournament.
In the game, Sarah Hernandez scored in the first half and Emily Hernandez scored in the second half with both goals going down in similar fashion – with the Cardinal players chipping the ball over the goalkeeper from about 15 yards out.
Maggie Schrader assisted on Sarah’s goal and Lauren Evans assisted on Emily’s goal.
TAMIU remained winless on the season.
