CARDINALS GOLF HAS TOUGH TRIP OUT WEST

The Incarnate Word men’s golf team spent the start of their spring break in Livermore, California, for the 3rd Annual Notre Dame de Namur Invitational.
The team finished last in the team standings with a 15th-place finish, shooting 309, 309 and 328 for a 946 over three rounds.
Chico State won the tournament with an 880 (296-287-297).
Matt French was the top finisher for Incarnate Word with a 230 (76-73-81) for a 34th-place tie.
Will Short finished tied for 41st with a 233 (76-76-81) while Martin Jimenez ended tied for 64th with a 242 (79-80-83).
Josh Rangel (78-90-83—251) and Dean Sartoris (88-80-86—254) finished 71st and 72nd, respectively.
The Cardinals won’t be in action against until March 30-31 for the Dallas Baptist Invitational at the Golf Club of Dallas.
The Heartland Conference ends men’s golf at the Heartland Conference Championships at Slick Rock Country Club in Horseshoe Bay, TX, on April 20-21.
