Matt French finished 13th overall at the Crawford-Wade Invite hosted by Texas A&M University-Commerce this week, helping the University of the Incarnate Word men’s golf team to a seventh place team finish.
Matt French shot a 229 at the Crawford-Wade Invite this week to lead UIW to a seventh place finish.
French shot an 82 in the first round, but shot a 72 and a 75 to finish just 13-over par and tied for 13th with a final score of 229 as the best Cardinal on the links.
UIW teammate Martin Jimenez shot a 239 (77-78-84) for a tie in 39th, while Dean Sartoris shot a 240 (78-77-85) to tie for 45th.
Will Short finished tied for 48th with rounds of 81, 82 and 79 for a final score of 242 and Jordan Lambkin finished tied for 60th (87-80-81).
UIW, as a team, shot 318-307-314 for a total team score of 944, tying the Cardinals for seventh with Southeastern Oklahoma State.
Central Oklahoma (288-288-302—878) won the event.
Up next for Incarnate Word is a long trip to Livermore, California, and the Poppey Ridge Golf Course for the Notre Dame de Namur Invitational on March 9-10.
