Incarnate Word’s women runners were at the Missouri Southern Stampede, one of the nation’s larger cross country events on the annual fall calendar, and the Cardinals had a presence.
There were 41 schools entered with 359 individuals. The University of Arkansas of Division I won the team title and right on its heels were a slew of the better Division II schools in the region. Host Missouri Southern was second with Dallas Baptist of the Heartland Conference finishing third.
UIW, as a team, came in 21st among the 41 teams.
Individually, Incarnate Word’s Marie Troufflard, a freshman, ran a 19:09.01 for 61st among the 359 who finished. Not too far off her pace came sophomore Alma Santos with a 20:03.13, good for 107th.
