Incarnate Word won the majority of the 18 events over the weekend including all four relay events to capture the title of its own UIW Swimming and Diving Invitational at the Ann Barshop Natatorium on campus.
With the Rocky Mountain Conference championships two weeks away, the Cardinals warmed up by winning 13 events and tallying 1,121.5 points to runnerup Trinity's 1,010.5.
Julia Cardenas led the Cardinals with four first place finishes. She was on three victorious relay squads (200-free, 400-free, 400-medley) while winning an individual title in the 200-freestyle.
Five other UIW swimmers touched first in three events. Kayln Davidson was first in the 200 and 400-freestyle relays and the 50-freestyle. Rachel Watson was first in the 200-free and 200-medley relays and the 200-IM. Also Paulina Alexander had three firsts in the 500 and 1,650-freestyles and the 400-IM.
Also winning five times were Melissa Ralston (200 and 400-medley relays, 200-breaststroke) and Joy Turner (three relays-200 and 400-medley, 400-free).
