After finishing the 2010 U.S. Collegiate National Championships in Palo Alto, California, the University of the Incarnate Word synchronized swimming team was recognized for having multiple athletes as members of the 2010 Academic All-American Team.
In order to qualify for the honor, athletes must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher.
For Incarnate Word, freshmen Brianna Andreychuk, Colleen Dwyer and Kelsey Smith; sophomores Natalie Krakoski, Molly Knight, Hannah Creaser, Ingrid Lundblad, and Anna Nelson; juniors Saki Fujise, Nikki Neufeld, Alex Stensby and Elizabeth Norton; and senior Andrea Patterson were all award recipients.
For every Cardinal named this year, it was their second All-American award.
UIW tied for third place at the Collegiate National Championships last week and the team is now preparing for the 2010 U.S. National Championships in April.
