It was the annual Cactus Cup track and field meet in Kingsville and Incarnate Word’s Lilya Piskunova was all over the place.
Lilya Piskunova earned points in five events in Kingsville.
The Kaza, Russia, freshman is listed on the UIW roster as “multi-events” and that truly was the case at the meet hosted by Texas A&M / Kingsville. She was in five events earning two seconds, a third, a fourth and an eighth. All of those earned team points for the Cardinals.
She had a fourth position in the 100-meter hurdles. Her time was 17.22. The followed that with the 400-meter hurdles and an eighth place in a time of 1:12.63. Then she ran the second leg of the UIW 4x100 relay and the foursome of Hayley Watts, Piskunova, Stacy Stanush and Lauren Pratt finished third in 49.96.
Piskunova added a pair of second place finishes. She leapt 35-05.25 in the triple jump before throwing the javelin 108.01 for second.
The Cardinals as a team ended up fourth at the meet with Division I Texas A&M / Corpus Christi the winner.
UIW had one other second place and that came from Marie Troufflard in the 5,000-meters with a time of 19:39.08.
