At the Trinity Twilight meet in San Antonio Incarnate Word had one competitor capture a first place and in the process established a new school mark.
Corey McDonnough went around the track one time in the 400-meters and broke the tape in a time of 48.26. That lowered the previous mark of 48.74 set two years ago by Chacho Madera.
The Cardinals did not finish first in any other events but UIW did record four second places. Zachary Kurz was first up with his 2:01.45 in the 800-meters followed by Marcos Gonzales and his 35:35.97 in the 10,000-meters.
The other second places for UIW came from Steven Young in the high jump (1.78 meters; 5-10.00) and Curtis Davis in the triple jump (13.13 meters; 43-01.00).
